There are three major parts to the FTS system:

i.  Web based modules  (These modules cover equities, fixed income, options and futures).

ii.  FTS real time position manager (This lets you manage a mixed currency position contains equities, fixed income, options and futures.  You can link directly to current data available on the web and manage the position by applying the web based modules.)  

iii.  FTS markets (with price discovery).  This powerful web based ECN (Electronics Communication Network) lets you create markets with your own trading crowd (i.e., students at your institution or you can even link across institutions.  Traders can both make market (i.e., submit bids and offers (limit orders) to buy/sell some quantity of securities at a given price) or take market (i.e., submit market orders).  Virtually any type of security can be traded in these markets.

There are two steps to running any module/market

Step 1:  You need to do a one time install of some run time libraries.  You will see instructions for this upon login and it only takes a few minutes.  

Step 2:  You select the module or market you want to try out.
