Smithsonian Institute Award
 The FAST (Financial
Analysis and Security Trading) method of teaching finance which was
pioneered by two professors at Carnegie Mellon University. This
method is built
entirely around the FTS technology. In May 1996, the FAST program received an Innovative
Technology Award from the Smithsonian Institute. It was described as providing an
example of "visionary and innovative use of information technology."
This description, then and today, has been the driving force behind the
development of the Financial Trading System.
